What to Expect: Our Hiring Process at Plan A
Pre-Screen Interview
Interview
Reference Check
At this step, we will require you to submit 3-5 healthcare supervisory references who can speak to your knowledge and/or bedside manner.
Conditional Job Offer
Documentation Collection
Submit required licenses, certificates, and other key documents.
Below is a list of documentation that will be required from you during this step of our hiring process:
- Proof of Education or Letter of Enrolment in the 2nd Year of an Accredited Nursing Program
- Canadian Government Issued Photo Identification
- CPR
- Criminal Record Check (CPIC) with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proof of Flu Shot or Tamiflu Prescription
- TB Skin Test Step 1 & 2 or Chest X-Ray
- N95 Respiratory Mask Fit
- 4 & 5 Step Health & Safety Certification*
- WHMIS*
- AODA*
- COVID-19 Vaccination
*If you do not have valid certifications, you will complete them during the Surge Learning Virtual Training.
Onboarding Meeting
A review of Plan A’s policies and procedures to set you up for success.
This will be completed either in person, virtually, or through the Surge Learning Training Platform. The method of delivery will be communicated with you.
Surge Learning Modules
Complete online training to ensure compliance and readiness.
Preparation through education and orientation is important to us, as it is vital to your success. We offer various training modules via Surge Learning to prepare you for the very important care you will provide in our partnered homes.
Job Ready Session
Get introduced to StaffStat and receive your login credentials.
At this time, you are officially an A-teamer! Our dedicated recruitment team will provide you with your StaffStat login credentials, a tutorial on how to pick up shifts, and schedule you for your first orientation shift at a partnered home.
On-Site Orientation
Shadow a shift at one of our partnered homes to get comfortable before your first official shift.
